Crowns and Bridges in Broken Arrow

For broken, decayed, or missing teeth, our porcelain crowns and bridges help your smile look its best again. Our customized crowns and bridges are built to last, providing both restorative as well as aesthetic enhancements. Each of our restorations is meticulously constructed to blend in with the rest of your smile while allowing normal biting and chewing function. They can also be used in conjunction with dental implants to replace one or more missing teeth.

Each crown and bridge is crafted to fit your unique smile. Our Beam team will work closely with our lab to perform an individual color assessment for even the most difficult-to-match tooth color.

Dental Crowns

Crowns are protective covers that are placed over teeth that are unable to withstand the daily forces of biting and chewing. Placing a crown over the remaining structure protects your tooth and allows you to resume normal activities without the risk of fractures. It effectively functions as a protective helmet or shell for the tooth that’s underneath it.

If you fit one of the following criteria, you may need a crown.

  • Recent root canal treatment
  • Large fillings that are beginning to break down
  • Severe tooth wear
  • Aggressive decay (cavities)
  • Single dental implant placement

Dental Bridges

A bridge is made up of two crowns that support a floating, artificial crown in the middle. They essentially serve as a “bridge” to fill the gap created by a missing tooth. The bridge is attached to a healthy tooth on either side, which serves as a base for the fixed restoration. We can also attach bridges on top of a pair of implants to replace 3-4 teeth at a time.

When only one or two teeth are missing and the teeth on either side could benefit from a crown, dental bridges are a great option. They're a popular alternative to partial bridges or when someone doesn't meet the requirements for a dental implant.

Caring for Crowns and Bridges

Brush and floss around each crown and your bridgework on a daily basis to help them last as long as possible. Although the porcelain is resistant to decay, the tooth beneath it is still susceptible to bacteria. Schedule checkups every six months so that we can assess your dental work on a regular basis.

Use a floss threader to work floss underneath bridgework. Alternatively, you might want to use a water flosser. Cleaning along the edges of your restoration twice a day is essential since accumulation of plaque is likely to be heaviest in those areas. Cleaning your new crowns and bridges will reduce your risk of gum disease and reoccurring tooth decay in those teeth.

A crown that is properly cared for can easily last 10 years or longer.

Combining Crowns and Bridges with Implants

If you're getting dental implants to replace missing teeth, we'll pair them with a porcelain crown or bridge. This fixed appliance eliminates the need to wear a partial denture and is ideal since it’s non-invasive to other teeth.
